Job Description: Baker/Pastry Assistant

Position Title: Baker's Assistant
Reports to: Baker / Production/Pastry Manager
Full-Time/Part-Time: Part-Time/Full-Time (24-30 hrs per week, possibly full-time)
Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt

Position Summary:

The Baker/Pastry Assistant provides support to the Baker in preparing ingredients, maintaining the kitchen, and assisting in the production of baked goods. This role is essential in ensuring efficiency in the bakery and maintaining cleanliness standards.

Position is at our production facility off Manchester.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with measuring, mixing, and preparing ingredients for baking.

  • Assist the Pastry Chef in the preparation of and baking cheesecakes and other desserts.

  • Help with the dressing, packaging and labeling of finished products.

  • Clean and sanitize kitchen dishes, equipment and work areas throughout the day.

  • Monitor inventory levels and notify the Baker of any shortages.

  • Ensure that all baking tools and utensils are in good working condition.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or bakery setting is preferred.

  • Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a team environment.

  • Basic knowledge of kitchen sanitation and safety procedures.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
